- SNES9x version .2 for Sun Solaris, and Linux released
early this morning! The Server is/was down for a bit, but
I think it should be back soon. Seems like everything has
bee re-written for this release... as to get some MAJOR
speedups! Everythings been going to ASM. New graphics
engine, new CPU core, new MODE 7 graphics routines.
Everything has been re-done in the intrest of speed.
Sounds like the Dos/Win ports are right around the
corner... but for all of you with MACINTOSH or LINUX or
SUN systems... get the latest and greatest!

- SNeSe has now moved from Demo #8, on to an actual release
version, of .09. "Even though the chages were small,

- Updated the SNES
Developers Corner with GrimSnes Source Code.
- Woah... another section is
in the works...hehe. It won't be of much intrest to most
of you. But if you're new to emulation, we're making the
Beginners Package. It will include a Front End, a batch
file, and several freeware roms. There will be starter
packages for several emulators, as to allow many people
to get up and running quickly. We don't know what to call
the page, or the package. E-mail snesemu@ztnet.com if you have any suggestions.
- Construction begins on a
new section. We call it, The Translation Station. It will make it's first
appearance in about 1 week or so. Be on the lookout...
SNeSe Demo 8 now available.
Here's all the new goodies. :)
- A new executable is
provided in the archive (ELF.EXE) it is the partially
optimised version of SNEeSe by
Dark Elf. This one starts in 256*256 MODEX resolution,
whereas SNEeSe start in 320*200 VGA mode.
- 4 Screen Modes are now
available, they can be chosen via the GUI, CONFIG menu.
FIXED! The stupid error in DMA mode 0, now the graphics
are no longer corrupt in Mario and Zelda (+
more).
- Added mode 7 support, you
can now see the screen data but scaling etc is not yet
implemented. Hardware
scrolling is though so some ROMs, like Soccer look
playable.
- Altered screen code so it
now uses either 240 or 224 pixels for verticle size,
depending on hardware
setting.
- Added allegro library, so
keyboard should work as well a in most emulators.
Joystick support (4 Button
only) has also been added.
- PCX saver has been
improved and should now save piccies that can be viewed
in any pcx compatable viewer.
The PCX saver was written by Arcane.
- SPC Implemented. Don't get
excited.. no sound yet, I have just added the processor
emulation. With many
opcodes currently incomplete (only 120 odd supported so
far!).

- Well, this concerns the
Rom Review. Because of the speed in development of the
SNES Emulators, and the number of ones available, we may
discontinue the Review portion of the site. :( We will at
least bring the "Emulator as a whole" review up
to par. However... if we do decide to drop work on
specific rom reviews, we will add areas of intrest,
including Interviews, and Rom Translation projects. Send
us an e-mail at snesemu@ztnet.com to tell us your opinion about
this possible change.
Sincerely,
Zach, and the rest of the staff.

worthy of a mention. It was also added to the downloads/archive page. Again, thank you EMUNEWS.

- It's incredible! I am
back.. not everyday... but still, I'm back. Things were
kind of bad around here, so I had to take some time off.
On April 1st, 1997, even before this site went online, my
mom had to go into the hospital for an emergency
Hisdirectomy. She had a large growth the size of a
grapefruit inside her uterus. That was sucessfuly
removed, and she was going through a normal recovery.
About 2 weeks later, we received the pathology report.
The tumor was cancerous. We did not know however, if the
cancer had spread. All signs were negative, and it was
believed to be contained in the uterus. In the middle-end
of May, she was scheduled to go for follow-up radiation
treatment. In order to be sure that it was gone. However,
about 3 days before her first treatment, there was a call
from the office, saying they would have to cancel it. But
no reason was given. My dad called them, to find out what
was going on. He works about 50 minutes from our house.
He got home in less than 30. It turns out, the cancer had
spread VERY QUICKLY to her lungs. She was to begin
Chemotherapy immediatly. Since mid June, she has had 6
treatments. The cancer has shrunk, but has not vanished.
Things are still very questionable. I took the month off,
just to think about things, and get stuff sorted out.
I've still been around, keeping up with current events.
:) I thank all of you, who still visit, even though I've
not kept a visible update going. Have a good day/week and
I hope to update again soon. :)
Zach, A.K.A Leviathan
