Using this option will allow some images that blank screen to become playable. Option accessible from Genecyst Pull Down Menu Bar by "Settings" and then choosing "Force Display". (gb) = graphic bug. Tolerable (subjective). Examples: Road Rash series has a small seam line on the horizon between connected scroll layers. NBA Live 97 will not display option screens unless you turn raster effects on. Before starting the game you must turn raster effects off or game will crash. (J) = Japanese, might need to switch country code, but can you read it? Certain programs are still playable, whether you read Japanese or not. (mgb) = Major Graphic Bug. Unplayable. Turn off all layers and sigh often. Examples: Uncharted Waters looks as if a painter smeared all of their paint on the screen. (os) = Opening Screen. Roms that work until you try to play them. Several roms in this category will demo themselves, but will not allow game play or will crash when you start game play. (r) = "Raster Effects". Use this setting to enable graphics in some rom images that otherwise would not work. Option accessible from Genecyst Pull Down Menu Bar under "Settings" and selecting "Raster Effects". (sah) = "scroll a high". A setting that turns off a screen layer which creates a graphic bug within an image. Option can be accessed using the Genecyst Pull Down Menu Bar then selecting "View", "Layers", and then unchecking "scroll a high". (sal) = "scroll a low". This setting turns off a screen layer that creates some graphic problems in some images. Option can be accessed from Genecyst Pull Down Menu Bar by "View", "Layers", and then unchecking "scroll a low". (salh) = "scroll a low" and "scroll a high". Turn off both of these layers. (sc) = So Close to becoming playable, that you can taste it. Many of these programs will run in a limited condition or mode. You may need to turn off all scroll layers or find the option that will run. These programs are in a condition that only a hard core fan could enjoy them. Examples: Alex Kid works until entering a building and then it locks. Bulls vs Lakers needs all scroll layers turned off. Lakers vs Celtics turn all layers off. Leaving only player sprites on a black screen. Madden 93 can be played by switching "layer a" on/off for every play selection, but who wants to toggle a layer on & off for 100 - 300 times a game.
